Steven Bernstein (filmmaker)
Steven Bernstein, ASC, DGA, WGA is an American cinematographer, director, screenwriter and author. In 1992 he won the Best Artistic Contribution Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival for '' Like Water for Chocolate'' alongside Emmanuel Lubezki. He also won the Cannes Golden Lion for his work in commercials. His book ''Film Production'' (Focal Press) has been translated into several languages and at one time was the bestselling textbook about film making. Bernstein was a 2014 ASC nominee for the Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in One-Hour Episodic Television Series Award for his work on ''Magic City''. ''Last Call'' (originally titled ''Dominion'') is a 2017 American drama film written and directed by Steven Bernstein. It is a surrealistic biopic, which recreates the life of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas through flashbacks during the famous drinking binge at the White Horse Tavern in New York City which ended fatally during the fall of 1953. The unfinished film was screened at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival. The worldwide sales rights were acquired by Lightning Entertainment in November 2017. Nicholas Wright (playwright)
Nicholas Verney Wright (born 1940 in Cape Town, South Africa) is a British dramatist. Biography Nicholas Wright was born in Cape Town, attended Rondebosch Boys' School and from the age of six was a child actor on radio and on the stage. He came to London in 1958 to train as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and subsequently worked as a floor-assistant in BBC Television and as a runner in film, notably John Schlesinger's ''Far From the Madding Crowd''. Dylan Marlais Thomas (27 October 1914 – 9 November 1953) was a Welsh poet and writer, whose works include the poems " Do not go gentle into that good night" and " And death shall have no dominion", as well as the "play for voices" ''Under Milk Wood''.
