Steven Bates
Steven Paul Bates (born 16 January 1980 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a New Zealand rugby union footballer, whose usual position is at Number 8. He played for Waikato at provincial level and the Chiefs in the Super 14. Bates made the traditional All Blacks route to the top with appearances for New Zealand Secondary Schools, New Zealand U-19 and the U-21s, during this time he played Rugby league and was good enough to be selected for the Warriors U-19s. He played his first test for his nation (v Italy 2004). Currently, Bates resides in Fuchu, Japan with Top League team Toshiba Brave Lupus under Australian coach Joe Barakat, with other New Zealand players Richard Kahui and David Hill. David Hill (rugby Union)
David William Hill (born 31 July 1978 in Blenheim, New Zealand) is a rugby union player. His position is Fly-half (rugby union), fly-half. He spent most of his career playing for Waikato Rugby Union, Waikato and the Chiefs (Super rugby franchise), Chiefs. He also played for the All Blacks between 2001 and 2006, in which he has played 1 test and 2 games In November 2006 he started playing for the Bristol Rugby club in the Guinness Premiership, and on 14 March 2008 announced that he'd leave the English club for a move to Toshiba Brave Lupus, a Japanese club, with other former Chiefs and Waikato player Steven Bates. Richard Kahui (born 9 June 1985) is a former New Zealand rugby union player. He played for Western Force in Super Rugby AU. He previously played for the and in Super Rugby, Waikato in the National Provincial Championship, and New Zealand internationally. He played at centre and wing. Career Domestic Kahui debuted for Waikato in the 2004 NPC. In 2006, he was the top try scorer in the Air New Zealand Cup, and was named the 'Air New Zealand Cup Player of the Year'. Joe Barakat (born 23 February 1963) is an Australian rugby union Coach. He has just returned home from two years in Japan as a forwards and defense coach for the NTT Communications Shining Arcs in Tokyo, Japan after an extensive national and international career. Education Barakat graduated from Marist College, Kogarah in 1980 and continued his study at Australian Catholic University. Japan Rugby League One (), formerly known as the Top League (), is a rugby union competition in Japan. It is the highest level of professional rugby competition in the country. The Japan Rugby Football Union created the competition in 2003, by absorbing the Japan Company Rugby Football Championship.
