Steve Pickton
Steve Pickton a.k.a. Stasis is an English electronic-techno musician, record producer and sound engineer. He started with a release on B12 Records under his Stasis moniker. After that, he released quite a number of 12"es and albums on several labels as Stasis, Paul W. Teebrooke, Phenomyna and The Otherworld Collective. His latest alias is Soul 223. Steve Pickton's music is characterized by a very dreamy, melodic, melancholic and yet powerful, driving, energetic sound, combining Detroit-influenced beat patterns and basslines with beautiful string sounds. Beside his solo work, he also collaborates with Mark Broom and Dave Hill as Kapé I'llmusier or Ted Howler Rhythm Combo. He also set up a label called Otherworld. Techno
Techno is a Music genre, genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally music production, produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central Drum beat, rhythm is typically in common time (4/4) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor (music), four on the floor beat. Artists may use electronic instruments such as drum machines, sequencer (musical instrument), sequencers, and synthesizers, as well as digital audio workstations. David John Hill (born 4 April 1946) is an English rock musician. He is the lead guitarist, a backing vocalist and the sole continuous member in the English band Slade. Hill is known for his flamboyant stage clothes and hairstyle. Early life Born in Flete House, Holbeton, Devon, the son of a mechanic, he moved with his parents to Penn, Wolverhampton, when he was a year old. He attended the city's Springdale Junior School and Highfields Secondary school. He bought his first guitar from a mail-order catalogue and received some guitar lessons from a science teacher at his school. He then formed a band called The Young Ones with some school friends. He worked in an office for Tarmac Limited for over two years after leaving school. Peacefrog Records
Peacefrog Records is a British independent record label based in London, England. The label produces releases in many different styles of electronic music, as well as branching out into Folk music, folk and Independent music, indie artists such as José González (singer), José González, Nouvelle Vague (band), Nouvelle Vague and Little Dragon. The label was started by Pete Hutchison and Paul Ballard in 1991. After the Lodger 303 EP, Ballard withdrew from Peacefrog Records. The record label subsequently released a number of techno records, by artists including Luke Slater, Moodymann and Suburban Knight.
