Sir Steve Rodney McQueen (born 9 October 1969) is a British film director, film producer, screenwriter, and video artist. Known for directing films that deal with intense subject matters, he has received several awards including an Academy Award The Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, are awards for artistic and technical merit in film. They are presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in the United States in recognition of excellence ..., two BAFTA Awards and a Golden Globe Award. He was honoured with the BFI Fellowship in 2016 and was Knight bachelor, knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2020 for services to art and film. 2024 New York Film Festival
The 62nd New York Film Festival took place September 27 to October 14, 2024, presented by Film at Lincoln Center.
