Steve Lukert
Steve Lukert (December 10, 1947) is a former Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, who represented the 62nd district. He served from January 3, 2006 - 2011. Lukert ran for re-election in 2010, but lost to Republican Randy Garber. Lukert retired from teaching after 32 years, and has been a farmer for 40 years. He and wife Linda have five children and 10 grandchildren. Bruce Larkin (Kansas Politician)
Bruce Larkin (born January 23, 1957) is a children's book author, poet, ESL expert, and philanthropist who writes in English and Spanish. Many of his works are published by Wilbooks, an educational publishing company. Larkin's books are primarily used to teach young children how to read. Larkin has published more than 1,500 book titles, both fiction and non-fiction, for beginner readers. He has also written more than 3,000 poems. Bruce Larkin is known for his philanthropic efforts in the field of literacy. In November and December 2009, Larkin donated over 400,000 books to schools all around the United States. Larkin was named the 2012 Children's Poet of the Year by the Literacy Empowerment Foundation. Randy Garber is a member of the Kansas House of Representatives. Biography Garber was born on February 27, 1951, in Axtell, Kansas. He graduated from high school in Sabetha, Kansas. From 1969 to 1989, Garber served in the United States Navy. He and his wife, Kay, have five children between them.
