Steve Claggett
Steve Claggett (born June 11, 1989) is a Canadian professional boxer who has challenged for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) super lightweight title. Early life Claggett has Chinese ancestry through his maternal grandfather. At age 19 he started having trouble with the law which led to boxing to help cope Amateur career Claggett had a successful amateur career with 29 fights and winning the Alberta Provincial Championships and in 2007, the Canadian National Championships. Professional career Claggett made his debut against Brandon Carlick in Edmonton in September 2008. He won a majority decision. Claggett suffered his first defeat of his career against Romeo Jakosalem in the Philippines. This was also his first fight outside of Canada. The International Boxing Federation (IBF) is one of four major organizations recognized by the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) which sanctions professional boxing bouts. The M Telus (formerly known as Métropolis) is a performing arts centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located in the central part of the downtown core, on Saint Catherine Street East between Saint-Dominique and De Bullion Streets, in the Quartier des Spectacles. The CAA Centre (formerly the Brampton Centre for Sports & Entertainment and the Powerade Centre) is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
