Steve Bryles
Steven Mark Bryles (September 17, 1957 - December 28, 2012) was an American politician and businessman. He was a member of the Arkansas Senate from 2001 to 2011, and a member of the Democratic Party. Political career Steve Bryles represented Senate District 15, which includes Mississippi and Poinsett counties, in the Arkansas Senate 2001-2011. Elected in 2000 in his first venture into politics, Bryles defeated state representative Joe Harris. His committee memberships included Public Education; Agriculture, Economic Development and Forestry; Joint Budget, and Legislative Council. Bryles worked to establish the Great River Economic Development Foundation. In 2011, Bryles was appointed deputy director of the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission and then became director of the commission. David Burnett (politician)
David Burnett (born 1942 or 1943) is an American Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician and former member of the Arkansas Senate. Before he entered the Senate, Burnett had been a judge. Burnett is known as the trial judge of the controversial West Memphis Three trial during which he made several serious mistakes. West Memphis Three case Burnett was the presiding judge in the murder trials of Jessie Misskelley, Damien Echols, and Jason Baldwin, collectively known as the West Memphis Three. In February 1994, after a jury convicted Misskelley of one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder, Burnett sentenced Misskelley, then 18 years old, to life in prison plus 40 years. In March 1994, after a jury convicted Echols and Baldwin of three counts of capital murder, Burnett sentenced Echols to death and Baldwin, 17 at the time, to life in prison without parole. Osceola, Arkansas
Osceola is a city in, and a dual county seat of, Mississippi County, Arkansas, United States. Located along the Mississippi River within the Arkansas Delta, the settlement was founded in 1837 and incorporated in 1853. Poinsett County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 24,583. The county seat is Harrisburg. Poinsett County is included in the Jonesboro–Paragould Combined Statistical Area. History Poinsett County was formed on February 28, 1838, and named for Joel Roberts Poinsett, U.S. Secretary of War.
