Steve Beauharnais
Steve Beauharnais (born May 2, 1990) is a former American football linebacker. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL draft. He played college football at Rutgers Scarlet Knights football, Rutgers. He was also a member of the Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Hotshots, and St. Louis BattleHawks. Early life Beauharnais was a three-year standout at Saddle Brook High School in Saddle Brook, New Jersey before transferring to Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey for his senior season. While at Saint Joseph, he helped guide the Green Knights to an 11–1 record and the Non-Public Group III state title. He was named ''The Record (Bergen County), The Record'' Defensive Player of the Year as a senior where he recorded 99 tackles, including 11.5 tackles-for-loss. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and typically line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and so back up the defensive linemen. They play closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary). As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage).
