Steve Aird
Steve A. Aird (born January 26, 1978) is a Canadian volleyball coach at Indiana University (2018–present). He was previously the head volleyball coach at the University of Maryland from 2014-2017. Personal life Aird was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and received his degree in Letters, Arts and Sciences with a focus on business law and sports management in 2001. He is married to Brandy Wilson Aird. Steve and Brandy have three kids, Caelan, Padraic and Mackenzie. Playing career Aird played at Penn State University from 1997 to 2001, where he started from 1999 to 2001. The Nittany Lions made three NCAA semifinal appearances during his career. He graduated from Penn State in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Letters, Arts and Sciences with a focus on business law and sports management. A head coach, senior coach or manager is a professional at training and developing athletes. They typically hold a more public profile and are paid more than other Coach (sport), coaches. Florida Gators
The Florida Gators are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Florida, located in Gainesville. The University of Florida, its athletic program, its alumni and its sports fans are often collectively referred to as the "Gator Nation." The Gators compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and are consistently ranked among the top college sports programs in the United States. Big Ten Conference Volleyball
Big Ten volleyball is made up of the women's volleyball programs from the Big Ten's 14 member universities. Through 2021, the Big Ten has earned a combined 36 NCAA national semifinal appearances by eight different teams. In 1987, Illinois became the first Big Ten program to make an appearance in the national semifinal. In 1999 Penn State won the conference's first national championship, and they have won seven overall, including a record four consecutive titles from 2007 to 2010. Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin (four times) have each made national championship game appearances. In 2011, former Big 12 member Nebraska joined the Big Ten. Cincinnati Bearcats
The Cincinnati Bearcats are the athletic teams that represent the University of Cincinnati. Though they will move to the Big 12 Conference (XII) the teams are currently a part of the American Athletic Conference (The American), which from 1979 to 2013 was known as the Big East Conference. Cincinnati and Wichita State University are currently the only members of The American that are located in the Midwestern United States; all other members are in the Northeast or South. In September 2021, Cincinnati received and accepted a membership offer to the Big 12 Conference.
