''Steve'' is an upcoming drama film directed by Tim Mielants and written by Max Porter (writer), Max Porter, based on his 2023 novella ''Shy (novella), Shy''. It stars Cillian Murphy, Jay Lycurgo, Tracey Ullman, Simbi Ajikawo, and Emily Watson. The film will have its world premiere in the Platform Prize section of the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, followed by its global release by Netflix in 3 October 2025. Premise Steve (Murphy) is a headteacher in charge of a school for boys with societal and behavioural difficulties.
