Stephen Kaufer
Stephen Kaufer (Steve Kaufer; born in 1962 or 1963 in Hollywood, California) was the founder and CEO of TripAdvisor. Kaufer launched TripAdvisor in 2000 with Langley Steinert, and was the company's president and chief executive officer from then until his retirement in 2022. Early life Kaufer was born in Hollywood, California, which, he has written, is "truly a shocking notion if you know how unstruck I am by stars." His father, Alvin Kaufer, was an accomplished trial lawyer, who had grown up in an Orthodox Jewish household, but raised his own children in a Reform Jewish culture. Steve's mother had multiple sclerosis and was wheelchair bound by the time he was 13 and bedridden by the time he went to college. Caroline Kaufer
Caroline Kaufer (née Lipson) (August 4, 1962 – March 22, 2005) was an executive of a software development company and a philanthropist, especially for research into neuroendocrine cancer, the disease from which she died. Before her death, Mrs. Kaufer and her husband Stephen Kaufer gave $1.05 million to the Dana–Farber Cancer Institute to fund research of this rare disease. They also donated $250,000 to the Massachusetts General Hospital for similar research. The Stephen and Caroline Kaufer Fund for Neuroendocrine Research continues to support medical research around the world. Kaufer was a graduate of Newton South High School (class of 1980), Harvard College (class of 1984) and Harvard Business School (class of 1988). Glen Fogel (born 1977 in Denver, Colorado) is a New York-based artist. Work Glen Fogel's work constructs narratives from a combination of personal experience and politically charged issues using video, installation, sculpture, and photography.
