Steven Gunn (historian)
Steven John Gunn FRHistS is an English historian and fellow of Merton College, University of Oxford. He teaches and researches the history of late medieval and early modern Britain and Europe, and is the author of a number of academic texts. Biography Gunn was an undergraduate and doctoral student at Merton College, Oxford, matriculating in 1979. Prior to this he attended the Whitgift School in South Croydon. Gunn's doctoral thesis, a study of the life and career of Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, was supervised by C. S. L. Davies and completed in 1986. Prior to being elected a Tutorial Fellow at his alma mater, Gunn held a research fellowship at Newcastle University. Gunn's research interests lie in the political, social, cultural and military history of England and its European neighbours, spanning the mid-fifteenth to the late sixteenth century.

Steve Gunn (born April 20, 1977, in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, United States) is an American singer-songwriter based in Brooklyn. Biography He studied art and music at Temple University before moving to New York City. Gunn was formerly a guitarist in Kurt Vile's backing band, The Violators. Gunn has stated that his musical influences include Michael Chapman, La Monte Young, Indian music, John Fahey, Jack Rose, Robbie Basho, and Sandy Bull. In July 2021 he performed as a solo act at the Newport Folk Festival.
