Stephen Gerlach
Stephen Gerlach is a lawyer, company director, corporate advisor and the immediate past Chancellor of Flinders University in South Australia. He is a former chairman of oil and gas company Santos Limited and former managing partner of legal firm, Finlaysons. Career Gerlach studied at the University of Adelaide where he obtained a law degree. He worked at legal firm Finlaysons in Adelaide for 23 years, during which he held the position of Managing Partner from 1985 to 1991. He has acted as Chairman of numerous publicly listed companies, including Equatorial Mining Ltd, Elders Australia Ltd, Challenger Listed Investments Limited, Amdel Ltd and Penrice Ltd. He held directors' positions on further public companies including Southcorp Ltd, Elders Rural Bank and Brunner Mond Holdings Ltd (UK). Penrice Soda Products
Penrice Soda Products was a company founded in 1935 in South Australia. It was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, named after its quarry near the small town of Penrice, South Australia. It was forced to close its soda ash production plant in Osborne (South Australia), Osborne and was placed in liquidation in August 2014. History Penrice Soda Products operations were founded by ICI Australia in 1935. The Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary, Dry Creek Saltfields and Osborne soda ash plant were acquired from ICI in 1989. The salt fields were sold to Ridley Inc., Ridley Corporation in 2005.
