Petter Stenborg
Petter Stenborg (1719 – 6 November 1781) was a Swedish stage actor and theater director. He was the director of the Stenborg Company or ''Svenska Comoedi-truppen'' from 1758 onward and as such the director of the '' HumlegÃ¥rdsteatern'' (1773–80) in Stockholm. Petter Stenborg played an important role in Swedish theater history: he was a member of the pioneer actors of the first Swedish national stage in ''Bollhuset'', and as the leader of the Stenborg theatre company, one of only two professional Swedish language theater companies active in the mid 18th-century, he kept professional Swedish language theater alive from the closure of the public theater in ''Bollhuset'' in 1754, until the inauguration of the Royal Swedish Opera (1773) and Royal Dramatic Theatre (1788). Gray Stenborg
Gray Stenborg (13 October 1921 – 24 September 1943) was a New Zealand flying ace of the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) during the Second World War. He was credited with 14 confirmed victories, one shared destroyed, and three damaged. Born in Auckland, Stenborg joined the RNZAF in July 1940. After receiving flight training in New Zealand and Canada, he was sent to England to serve with the Royal Air Force. His first operational posting was to No. 485 Squadron and he later flew with No. 111 Squadron, and during his time there shot down four enemy aircraft. In June 1942, he was sent to Malta as a reinforcement pilot, flying a Supermarine Spitfire off the flight deck of HMS ''Eagle'' to the island where he joined No. 185 Squadron. He destroyed several aircraft during his time on Malta, returning to Europe in late August 1942. After a period of time as an instructor, he was posted to No. 91 Squadron. Carl Stenborg
Carl Stenborg (8 September 1752 – 1 August 1813) was a Swedish opera singer, composer and theatre director. He belonged to the pioneer generation of the Royal Swedish Opera and was regarded as one of the leading opera singers of the Gustavian era. He was a '' hovsÃ¥ngare'' and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. Life Carl Stenborg was born in Stockholm to actor Petter Stenborg (1719–1781), director of the Stenborg Troupe, and Anna Krüger (1710–1803). Of his brothers, Johan Fredrik Stenborg (1743–1813) studied at Uppsala University and became an official, and Nils Stenborg (d. 1780) became an opera singer. He received a good education, debuted as a concert singer in Riddarhuset in 1766 and was appointed councillor at the Royal Court of Sweden in 1767. Biography Ã…ke Stenborg was born in the town of Torshälla, but he lived most of his life in Eskilstuna. He was a multiple champion of the city chess club. Helen Joan Stenborg (January 24, 1925 – March 22, 2011) was an American actress of stage, screen, and television. She occasionally acted with her husband, actor Barnard Hughes (1915–2006), to whom she was married for 56 years from 1950 until his death in 2006; they had two children. Career Stenborg appeared on stage in revivals of '' A Doll's House'', '' A Month in the Country'', and '' The Crucible''; the original, belated US production of Noël Coward's '' Waiting in the Wings'', for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play; and the Lanford Wilson plays, '' The Rimers of Eldritch'' and ''Talley & Son'' winning the Obie Award for her performance in the latter. Knut Stenborg (25 March 1890, in Hjo – 10 October 1946, in Vänersborg) was a Swedish athlete. He competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics in London and in the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm.
