Stella Voskovetskaya
Stella Voskovetskaya is a dancer, choreographer and dance instructor. Biography Voskovetskaya was born on February 6, 1965, in Kiev Ukraine. In 1971, Voskovetskaya was accepted at the Kiev Ballet School (teachers Lyudmila Krymskaya and Galina Kirilova). Four years later she was accepted at Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, graduating in 1983. She was later admitted to the Corps de Ballet of the Kirov Ballet Theater (now Mariinsky Theater) where she was worked from 1983 to 1993. In 1984 Stella was promoted to coryphée, and later to demi-soloist (or Second Soloist) In 1994, she was invited to work at Igor Moiseyev Ballet, as a First Character Dancer. After retiring in 2000, Voskovetskaya returned to Kyiv, where she founded Academic Children's Dance Ensemble. In 2004, she moved to the US, where she helped found Voronov Academy of Ballet in Chicago. The Sleeping Beauty (ballet)
''The Sleeping Beauty'' ( rus, Спящая красавица, Spyashchaya krasavitsa ) is a ballet in a prologue and three acts, first performed in 1890. The music was composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky ( Opus 66). The score was completed in 1889, and is the second of his three ballets. The original scenario was conceived by Ivan Vsevolozhsky, and is based on Charles Perrault's ''La Belle au bois dormant''. The choreographer of the original production was Marius Petipa. The National Dance Education Organization (NDEO), located in Silver Spring, Maryland, was established in 1998 as a national non-profit organization supporting dance education and dance in the United States generally. It is a membership services organization that supports dance teachers with programs and services. ''The Little Humpbacked Horse, or The Tsar Maiden'' (a.k.a. ''Konyok Gorbunok ili Tsar-Devitsa'', or ''Le Petit cheval bossu, ou La Tsar-Demoiselle'') is a ballet in four acts and eight scenes with apotheosis. Story of the ballet The libretto is by Arthur Saint-Léon, based on the fairy tale '' The Little Humpbacked Horse'' by Pyotr Yershov. However, the choreographer substantially deviated from Yershov's original tale. The ballet shows how Ivan the fool, with the aid of a magical horse, defeats an evil Khan and wins the hand of the Tsar- Maiden. Eventually Ivan replaces the ineffective and incompetent Tsar and becomes Tsar himself. ''Cinderella'' (russian: Золушка, tr. ''Zolushka''; french: Cendrillon) Op. 87, is a ballet composed by Sergei Prokofiev to a scenario by Nikolai Volkov.
