Stella Maris College (Chennai)
Stella Maris College is an institution of higher education for women in Chennai, India. It is an autonomous college affiliated to the University of Madras and is partly residential. The college, which is under the direction of the Society of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, is a minority institution. It has five hostels – Snehalaya, Our Lady's, Klemens, St. Josephs and Nava Nirmana. It is ranked 30th among colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2024. Introduction Beginning in a small one-storey building on 15 August 1947, with an enrollment of 32 students, the college has at present over 5,500 students housed in large buildings on the campus of "The Cloisters", Cathedral Road, Chennai. Lekha Washington (born 30 April 1984) is an Indian actress, artist, and product designer who has predominantly appeared in Tamil and Telugu language films as well as a few Hindi films. Captain Divya Ajith Kumar is an Army Air Defense (AAD) officer in the Indian Army. She graduated from the Officers Training Academy, Chennai. Kumar is the first woman to be conferred by the Army with the Sword of Honour, a prize given to the best cadet. Brindha Sivakumar
Brindha Sivakumar (born 3 March 1980) is an Indian playback singer and voice artist who works in Tamil-language films. She is the daughter of actor Sivakumar and the younger sister of actors Suriya and Karthi. Career While Brindha was studying grade 10, Karthik Raja called her for a recording, but Brindha declined the offer since her board exams were near. She was initially offered Simran's role in ''Kannathil Muthamittal'' (2002) by assistant director Sudha Kongara but declined the role.
