Stelio Zupancich
Stelio Zupancich (born April 7, 1958) is a Canadian former ice hockey player. He represented Canada at the 1980 Winter Olympics held in Lake Placid, where he scored one goal and three assists in six games. He also played OHL hockey with the Toronto Marlboros and Oshawa Generals. He finished his career playing for the Toronto Varsity Blues, twice an all star and elected to the school's Sports Hall of Fame. 1979–80 Canada Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The 1979–80 Canada men's national ice hockey team represented Canada at the 1980 Winter Olympics held in Lake Placid in the United States. This was the first men's ice hockey team to compete for Canada at the Olympics since the 1968 Winter Olympics held at Grenoble, France. Canada's team placed sixth in the tournament to finish out of the medals. Toronto Varsity Blues Men's Ice Hockey
The Toronto Varsity Blues men's ice hockey team is an ice hockey team operated by the Varsity Blues athletics program of the University of Toronto. They are members of the Ontario University Athletics conference and compete in U Sports. The Varsity Blues senior team won the Allan Cup in 1921 and 1927, and won the gold medal for Canada at the 1928 Winter Olympics. The team is based at Varsity Arena on the University downtown campus in Toronto, Ontario. The Oshawa Generals are a junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League. They are based in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The team is named for General Motors, an early sponsor which has its Canadian headquarters in Oshawa. In November 2016, the General Motors Centre changed its name to Tribute Communities Centre. Its 184 graduates to the National Hockey League are second in the OHL. The Generals have won the Memorial Cup five times, as well as a record thirteen Ontario Hockey League Championships, the J. Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. Toronto Marlboros
The Toronto Marlborough Athletic Club, commonly known as the Toronto Marlboros, was founded in 1903. It operated junior ice hockey and senior ice hockey teams in the Ontario Hockey Association and later the Ontario Hockey League. The Marlboros were a farm team to the Toronto Maple Leafs and one of the dominant junior teams in history, winning seven Memorial Cup championships.
