The Norwegian Guide and Scout Association (, NSF) is a Norwegian Scouting and Guiding association founded in its present form in 1978, when the ''Norwegian Boy Scout Organization'' (founded in 1911 and among the charter members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922) and the ''Norwegian Girl Guide Organization'' (founded in 1921 and an early member of World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) merged. NSF is a member of Speidernes Fellesorganisasjon, the national Scouting and Guiding federation of Norway. NSF is also a member of WOSM and WAGGGS. World Scout Committee
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest and, after the Order of World Scouts (formed in 1911), is the second-oldest international organization in the Scout Movement, having been established in 1922. It has 176 members. These members are national scout organizations that founded WOSM or have subsequently been recognised by WOSM, which collectively have around 43 million participants. Its operational headquarters is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, although it is legally based in Geneva, Switzerland. Silver Wolf Award (Norwegian Guide And Scout Association)
The Silver Wolf ( Norwegian: Sølvulven) is the highest award made by the Norwegian Guide and Scout Association "for services of the most exceptional character." The award consists of a Silver Wolf suspended from a blue and green neck ribbon. Recipients may wear the corresponding square knot, with a green strand over a blue strand, on their uniform. The Norwegian Silver Wolf was first awarded by the Norwegian Boy Scout Association in 1915. When the Boy Scout Association and Girl Guide Association merged in 1978, the Silver Wolf Award was discontinued, but in 1998 the merged Norwegian Guide and Scout Association restarted awarding the Silver Wolf.
