Stefano Bianchi
Stefano Bianchi is an Italian astrophysicist who is currently an Associate Professor at the Mathematics and Physics Department of Università degli Studi Roma Tre in Rome, Italy. He is an INAF Associate and an IAU Member. Education and career Bianchi's research interests include different aspects of high-energy astrophysics, focusing on black holes, Active Galactic Nuclei, and X-ray Binaries. He is a member of the NASA/ ASI IXPE Science Team and of the ESA XMM-Newton Users' Group. He is involved in the science definition of the future ESA missions Athena and LISA. He has translated three popular science books into Italian. XMM-Newton
''XMM-Newton'', also known as the High Throughput X-ray Spectroscopy Mission and the X-ray Multi-Mirror Mission, is an X-ray space observatory launched by the European Space Agency in December 1999 on an Ariane 5 rocket. It is the second cornerstone mission of ESA's Horizon 2000 programme. Named after physicist and astronomer Sir Isaac Newton, the spacecraft is tasked with investigating interstellar X-ray sources, performing narrow- and broad-range spectroscopy, and performing the first simultaneous imaging of objects in both X-ray and optical ( visible and ultraviolet) wavelengths. Initially funded for two years, with a ten-year design life, the spacecraft remains in good health and has received repeated mission extensions, most recently in October 2020 and is scheduled to operate until the end of 2022. Dan Hooper
Daniel Wayne Hooper (born December 16, 1976) is an American cosmologist and particle physicist specializing in the areas of dark matter, cosmic rays, and neutrino astrophysics. He is a senior scientist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and a professor of astronomy and astrophysics at the University of Chicago. Hooper is the author of several books, including ''Dark Cosmos: In Search of our Universe’s Missing Mass and Energy'' (2006), ''Nature’s Blueprint: Supersymmetry and the Search for a Unified Theory of Matter and Force'' (2008), and ''At the Edge of Time: Exploring the Mysteries of Our Universe's First Seconds'' (2019).
