''Stefanie in Rio'' is a 1960 West German romantic comedy film directed by Curtis Bernhardt and starring Carlos Thompson, Sabine Sinjen and Andréa Parisy.Bock & Bergfelder p.41 It is a sequel to the 1958 film '' Stefanie''. It was shot at the Spandau and Tempelhof Studios and on location in Rio de Janeiro. The film's sets were designed by the art director Wolf Englert and Ernst Richter. Curtis Bernhardt
Curtis Bernhardt (15 April 1899 – 22 February 1981) was a German film director born in Worms, Germany, under the name Kurt Bernhardt. Career He trained as an actor in Germany, and performed on the stage, before starting as a film director in 1924, with ''Nameless Heroes (film), Nameless Heroes''. Other films include ''A Stolen Life (1946 film), A Stolen Life'' (1946) and ''Sirocco (film), Sirocco'' (1951). Bernhardt made films in Germany from 1925 until 1933, when he was forced to flee the Third Reich — which briefly had him arrested — because he was Jews, Jewish. Bernhardt directed films in France and England before moving on to Cinema of the United States, Hollywood to work for Warner Brothers in 1940. The Spandau Studios or CCC Studios were film and television studios located in Spandau, a suburb of Berlin. They were established in 1949 following the Second World War by the producer Artur Brauner controller of CCC Films, on the site of a former factory.Bergfelder p.106 Following the Soviet occupation of East Germany, most of the major film studios in the capital were, with the exception of the Tempelhof Studios, located in East Berlin until Brauner opened his own studios. Geronimo Meynier (5 July 1941 – 23 January 2021) was an Italian film actor who starred in Italian cinema of the 1950s and 1960s. He debuted in '' Amici per la pelle'' in 1955 at age 14. His last film was in 1968. The Italian actor Geronimo Meynier shone in the mid-1950s as a child star, his filmography stopped at eighteen films, but he lives in private for almost half a century. He was born during the Second World War in the port of Fiume, which today bears the name Rijeka and is located in Croatia, but then it belonged to Italy. Geronimo came from a well-to-do family, his grandfather founded a large paper factory in Fiume, his ancestors were from France, which is also indicated by the surname. Rijeka was annexed to Yugoslavia after the war, but the Meynier family fled from communist partisans in 1943 due to their belonging to a higher social class. Art director is a title for a variety of similar job functions in theater, advertising, marketing, publishing, fashion, live-action and animated film and television, the Internet, and video games.
