Stefan Tuss
Stefan Tuss (born 1988) is a retired German Nordic combined skier. He competed at the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Junior World Championships. He won two gold medals in the team competitions of 2006 and 2008, and a team silver in 2007. His best individual placement was 5th in 2008. He made his World Cup debut in December 2006 in Lillehammer, finishing 33rd. He collected his first World Cup points when finishing 15th in December 2007 in Trondheim. This remained his only top-20 placement. His last World Cup outing came in February 2009 in Klingenthal. He made his Continental Cup debut in December 2008 in Park City and recorded his only podium in January 2009 in Eisenerz. Nordic combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The Nordic combined at the Winter Olympics has been held since the first ever Winter Olympics in 1924, while the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup has been held since 1983. Many Nordic combined competitions use the Gundersen method, where placement in the ski jumping segment results in time (dis)advantages added to the contestant's total in the cross-country skiing segment (e.g. the ski jumping winner starts the cross-country skiing race at 00:00:00 while the one with the lowest jumping score starts with the longest time penalty). The FIS Nordic Junior and U23 World Ski Championships 2006 took place in Kranj, Slovenia from 30 January to 5 February 2006. It was the 29th Junior World Championships. 2007 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships
The FIS Nordic Junior and U23 World Ski Championships 2007 took place in Planica, Slovenia and Tarvisio, Italy from 12 March to 18 March 2007. It was the 30th Junior World Championships and the second Under-23 World Championships in nordic skiing. Cross-country skiing and nordic combined events were held in Tarvisio, while the ski jumping events were held in Planica. The FIS Nordic Combined World Cup is a Nordic combined competition organized yearly by International Ski Federation, representing the highest level in international competition for this sport. Klingenthal is a town in the Vogtland region, in Saxony, south-eastern Germany. It is situated directly on the border with the Czech Republic opposite the Czech town of Kraslice, 29 km southeast of Plauen, and 33 km northwest of Karlovy Vary. Eisenerz (; "Iron ore") is a market place and old mining town in the Austrian state of Styria, . N.W. of Graz by rail. Pop. (2001) 6,400. It is situated in the deep Erzbach Valley, dominated on the east by the Pfaffenstein , on the west by the Kaiserschild , and on the south by the Erzberg . It has a medieval fortified church, a Gothic edifice founded by Rudolph of Habsburg in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 16th century. Szczyrk (german: Schirk) is a town in the Beskid Śląski mountains of southern Poland, situated in the valley of the Żylica river.
