Stedelijk Gymnasium Leiden is a Gymnasium (school), gymnasium in the Netherlands. Located in Leiden, it is one of the oldest schools in the Netherlands. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages. Herman Boerhaave
Herman Boerhaave (, 31 December 1668 – 23 September 1738Underwood, E. Ashworth. "Boerhaave After Three Hundred Years." ''The British Medical Journal'' 4, no. 5634 (1968): 820–25. .) was a Dutch chemist, botanist, Christian humanist, and physician. He is sometimes regarded as the founder of clinical teaching and of the modern academic hospital along with Venetian physician Santorio Santorio (1561–1636). Boerhaave introduced the quantitative approach into medicine, along with his pupil Albrecht von Haller (1708–1777). He was the first to isolate the chemical urea from urine. He was the first physician to put thermometer measurements to clinical practice. His motto was ''Simplex veri sigillum'': 'Simplicity is the sign of the truth'. Erik Falkenburg
Erik Falkenburg (born 5 May 1988) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. Club career Born in Leiden, he came through the youth system at and made his professional debut for Sparta Rotterdam on 23 January 2008 against PSV. At Sparta he played alongside future international players Kevin Strootman and Nick Viergever. He and Viergever left the club for AZ in 2010. Not a regular starter at AZ, he joined NEC on loan in January 2013 and he was sent on loan the next season to Go Ahead Eagles. After his contract with AZ expired in summer 2014, Falkenburg moved to NAC, who surprisingly beat Cambuur, Go Ahead and Willem II for his signature despite being in financial trouble. Rudolf George Escher
Rudolf Escher (8 January 1912 in Amsterdam – 17 March 1980 in De Koog) was a Dutch composer and music theorist. He left compositions for chamber orchestra and orchestra, vocal and one electronic composition. Escher was also a poet, painter and writer. Tatyana Pavlovna Ehrenfest
Tatyana Pavlovna van Aardenne-Ehrenfest, (; October 28, 1905 – November 29, 1984) was a Dutch mathematician. She is known for her contributions to De Bruijn sequences, low-discrepancy sequences, and the BEST theorem. Early life and education Tatyana Ehrenfest was born in Vienna in 1905 and spent her childhood in St Petersburg. She is the daughter of physicists Paul Ehrenfest and Tatyana Afanasyeva. In 1912 the Ehrenfests moved to Leiden where her father succeeded Hendrik Lorentz as professor at the University of Leiden. Until 1917 she was home schooled; after that, she attended the Gymnasium in Leiden and passed the final exams in 1922. She studied mathematics and physics at the University of Leiden. Rudolf Van Eecke , Java – 24 December 1975, Leiden) was a Dutch entomologist.
He attended the Gymnasium (school), gymnasium in Leiden. In 1912 he married Wilhelmina Henriëtte Petré then in 1927 Margaretha Emma Julia Hettyey. In 1916 (Leidsch Jaarboekje 1917) he became a conservator at the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie now merged with Rijksmuseum van Geologie en Mineralogie as Naturalis, where he worked on Lepidoptera.
