Starsong Communications
Star Song Communications is a Christian record label that was started in 1976 by Wayne Donowho, who recruited his friend Darrell Harris. It gained notoriety when it issued Resurrection Band's ground breaking debut album, Awaiting Your Reply in 1978. Originally, a distribution deal was made with Benson Records. From 1983 until 1986, distribution was done by Word Records. After that, a deal was made with Sparrow Records. Independent distribution was started in 1989, and picked up distribution for ForeFront records and DC Talk in 1991. This distribution was maintained until the sale of the company to EMI, and the launch of Chordant Distribution in 1994. Pure Metal Records was acquired from Refuge Records in 1990. In 1998, it was announced that Star Song would only be used to issue reprints, and their artists would be transferred to Sparrow. Jeoffrey Benward
Jeoffrey Benward (born January 10, 1952) is an American Contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter. He has been involved in the Christian music business since the 1970s, but achieved attention when he formed a duo with his son, Aaron, called Aaron Jeoffrey in 1995. His grandson is actor and singer Luke Benward. Life and career Benward was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His father, Keith Benward, was also a singer. In the 1970s, Jeoffrey actively toured and recorded, garnering a reputation as one of the industry's most accomplished singer-songwriters. During his early solo career, he released four albums for Forefront Records. He also co-wrote Phillips, Craig and Dean's No. 1 hit "The Concert of the Age." Jimmy Hotz
Jimmy Hotz (October 12, 1953 – June 5, 2023) was an American inventor, record producer, recording engineer, electronic music pioneer, audio expert, author and musician. Background Hotz began playing guitar at the age of seven. He played a number of instruments such as the guitar, keyboards, flute, drums and his own inventions such as the "Hotz Box" and the "Hotz MIDI Translator". Hotz has done a number of recordings where all of the instruments were played by him using only the Hotz Box as an input device. In the music business Jimmy Hotz has worked with Fleetwood Mac, Dave Mason, NSYNC, Mobius 8 B. B. Bryn Haworth
Bryn Haworth (born 29 July 1948) is a British Christian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and pioneer of Jesus music in mainstream rock. Born in Blackburn, Lancashire, England, he has released some twenty-two albums and several singles since the 1970s, as well as guesting as guitarist on many other albums by rock and folk artists. He continues to tour in the UK, appearing mostly at smaller venues, Christian centres and at prisons. He has also appeared three times at the UK Greenbelt Festival. Glass Harp (band)
Glass Harp are a rock band formed in Youngstown, Ohio in 1968 consisting of Phil Keaggy, drummer John Sferra and bassist Daniel Pecchio. Early years Phil Keaggy was a member of a mid-1960s garage rock band called the Squires; one of their songs, which he co-wrote, appears on the compilation album '' Highs in the Mid-Sixties, Volume 9''. In 1967 he moved on to briefly record with the band The New Hudson Exit. At one point, the band had apparently considered Joe Walsh as lead guitarist. Walsh would later establish himself as guitarist for the James Gang before embarking on a solo career and working with Eagles. In 1968, Keaggy and longtime friend drummer John Sferra, along with bassist Steve Markulin, formed the band Glass Harp. Pam Mark Hall (born 1951 as Pamela Ann Mark in San Bernardino, California) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, producer and artist (acrylics and multi-media.) Career Cutting her musical teeth on the renaissance explosion of pop, folk and rock in the 1960s, Pam Mark Hall began playing piano at age 6. Gaither Vocal Band
The Gaither Vocal Band is an American southern gospel vocal group, named after its founder and leader Bill Gaither. On March 1, 2017, it was announced that the Gaither Vocal Band lineup consisted of Reggie Smith, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles, and Bill Gaither. Although the group started out recording contemporary Christian music in the 1980s, it became known for southern gospel after the popularity of the ''Gaither Homecoming'' videos. Disciples Of Christ (hip Hop Group)
Disciples of Christ were an American Christian hip hop group that originated in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the early 1990s. They released three studio albums on Star Song Records from 1991 to 1994. The group later formed their own record label, We are One/Throne Room Records, and released an extended play in 1998 and a fourth studio album in 2003. Don Francisco (born February 28, 1946) is an independent American singer, songwriter, and musician, specializing in the field of contemporary Christian music. He has won two Dove awards, 1980 song of the year (for "He's Alive"), and 1980 Songwriter of the year. Background Don Francisco was born in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of a Christian seminary professor Clyde T. Francisco. FF5 (formerly known as Family Force 5, The Phamily, Ground Noise and The Brothers) is an American Christian rock band from Atlanta, Georgia.
