Stardom Cinderella Tournament
is an annual single-elimination tournament created and promoted by the Japanese professional wrestling promotion World Wonder Ring Stardom. The event has been held since 2015 and aired domestically on Tokyo MX, Fighting TV Samurai and Nippon TV, and later as an internet pay-per-view on Stardom's streaming service Stardom World. The main gimmick of the tournament is that the winner is being granted ''a wish'', which usually turns up to be a championship match of their choice. Just as the real life fairytale of ''Cinderella'' depicting a girl who achieves fame after being obscure, the winner of the tournament transits from "neglected" to "famous", eventually moving up to a championship scene. Events As of 2024, there have been a total of ten events. The first one was presented under the name of "Cinderella Champions Fiesta", and later on the series began being known simply as the "Cinderella Tournament". The was the Stardom Cinderella Tournament, sixth annual professional wrestling single-elimination tournament List of major World Wonder Ring Stardom events, promoted by World Wonder Ring Stardom in Tokyo, Japan. The event took place on March 24, 2020, with a limited attendance due in part to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in Japan, COVID-19 pandemic at the time. Storylines The show featured thirteen Cinderella Tournament Professional wrestling match types, matches and a dark match with scripted Narrative thread, storylines, where wrestlers portray Heel (professional wrestling), villains, Face (professional wrestling), heroes, or Glossary of professional wrestling terms#Tweener, less distinguishable characters in the scripted events that built tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
