Star Shopping
"Star Shopping" is a song by American rapper Lil Peep. It was first released via SoundCloud in 2015 and officially released to streaming services on April 19, 2019. Produced by Kryptik, the song contains a sample of "Never Mess With Sunday" by Yppah. Background Lil Peep had struck a friendship with Kryptik and bought the beat, which was titled "star shopping", from Traktrain. On August 16, 2015, after returning from a trip to Cambridge, Massachusetts for his grandfather's birthday on the previous day, Peep had a long argument with his girlfriend Emma Harris via text messages. He then composed "Star Shopping", a song about him and Emma, writing the lyrics in the Notes app on his phone that day. His mother Liza Womack wrote in a statement relating to the song's re-release, "The song wasn't uploaded to SoundCloud until December of that year. Gustav Elijah Åhr (; November 1, 1996 – November 15, 2017), known professionally as Lil Peep, was an American rapper and singer-songwriter. He was a member of the hip-hop collective GothBoiClique, and is credited as being a leading figure of the emo rap sub-genre, and an inspiration in alternative youth subcultures. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to an American mother and a Swedish father and raised on Long Island, Åhr started producing and releasing music on SoundCloud in 2013 under the name Trap Goose, later changing his stage name to Lil Peep because his mother had called him "Peep" since he was a baby. Originating in the SoundCloud rap scene in the mid-2010s, the genre fuses characteristics of hip hop music, such as trap-style beats with vocals that are usually sung. "Falling Down" is a song by American rappers and singers Lil Peep and XXXTentacion. It was included as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of the former's second studio album ''Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 2'' (2018). The song was posthumously released as the lead single from the album on September 19, 2018. The track was produced by The Invisible Men, IIVI, John Cunningham, and Mike Will Made It.
