Ltd., doing business as Mediacorp and stylised as mediacorp, is a media conglomerate in Singapore. Owned by Temasek Holdings—the holding company of the Government of Singapore—it owns television, radio, and digital media prop ... to honour its artistes who work on Channel 8. A total of 21 awards were given out at the ceremony and saw the introduction of two new categories, namely "Top Rated Drama Serial" and "Top Rated Telemovie", while the categories "Most Popular Male Artiste" and "Most Popular Female Artiste" were discontinued. Guo Liang (actor)
Guo Liang (born 11 November 1970) is a Chinese-born Singaporean actor and television host. Career Guo graduated from the Shanghai Drama Institute and moved to Singapore during the 1990s to join the Television Corporation of Singapore (predecessor of MediaCorp). He joined TCS in 1994. He joined SPH MediaWorks in late 2000 but returned to MediaCorp in 2005 when the two companies merged. Although trained as an actor, he is mostly known in Singapore as a presenter of MediaCorp Channel 8 current affairs programme ''Hello Singapore'' (狮城有约) but he stop as a presenter as he will return to MediaCorp as a full-time artiste and host of the Star Awards. In 2019, Guo undertakes as a host for a new dating variety show - The Destined One. Personal life Guo married Jade Shen Jie, a Chinese citizen, in 1994 and has a son, Marcus. The Golden Pillow
''The Golden Pillow'' () is a 40-episode epic drama produced by the Television Corporation of Singapore (now MediaCorp) in 1995. Synopsis The story is about Ren Niang, who attempts to find success and happiness in his life. Born in Thailand, Ren Niang goes to Singapore in search of his long-lost biological father Sai Qilin and gets entangled in a love triangle along the way. He chances upon a mysterious "golden pillow" rumoured to possess magical powers. Part of the plot involves various characters trying to get their hands on the golden pillow. Legacy The series was one of earliest Singaporean drama series to be filmed on location overseas (part of it was filmed in Europe). Huang Yiliang
Ng Aik Leong (Chinese: ), better known by his Chinese name Huang Yiliang, is a former veteran Singaporean television actor and director. He was a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1980 to 2006, after which he decide not to renew after the contract ends. Acting career Huang started as an actor with Mediacorp. He won the ''Best Supporting Actor'' Star Awards three times and Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes during his 20-year career there. Huang left the entertainment industry in 2006. Chew Chor Meng (born 20 November 1968), better known as Zhou Chuming, is a Singaporean actor. He is one of the first batch of actors to receive the All-Time Favourite Artiste award with Zoe Tay & Li Nanxing.
