Major general Stanton R. Musser (2 April 1936 - 8 October 2012) was a United States Air Force (USAF) officer. Early life and education He was born in Watsontown, Pennsylvania on 18 September 1936. He attended Gettysburg High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Gettysburg College in 1958. Military career He was commissioned as a second lieutenant through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program and began pilot training at Malden Air Base, Missouri, in August 1958. Upon completion of pilot training at Laredo Air Force Base, Texas, in August 1959, he received his pilot wings. He then was assigned to Williams Air Force Base, Arizona, and later to Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, where he completed North American F-100 Super Sabre combat crew training in July 1960. Watsontown, Pennsylvania
Watsontown is a borough in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,237 at the 2020 census. It was named for John Watson, an early settler. History Land in the Watsontown area was first purchased by John Watson in 1792. The borough's post office was opened in 1828. There was a racetrack in Watsontown from 1830 to 1840. Railroad tracks first reached the borough in 1854. A sawmill was built in the area in 1856. Watsontown was a part of Turbot Township until its incorporation in 1867. Watsontown was an important part of a transportation network that included roads, railroads, and canals along the Susquehanna River. Watsontown served as a stop along the Underground Railroad for slaves escaping to Canada. Many businesses were located here because of this. 50th Tactical Fighter Wing
The 50th Wing is an inactive United States Air Force wing. It was activated in 1949 as the 50th Fighter Wing, serving as a reserve air defense unit, and was redesignated as the 50th Fighter-Interceptor Wing in 1950, before being inactivated in 1951. It was reactivated in 1953 as the 50th Fighter-Bomber Wing, deploying to Europe to join NATO forces, and was redesignated as the 50th Tactical Fighter Wing in 1958. The 417th Test and Evaluation Squadron is an active United States Air Force unit, assigned to the 753rd Test and Evaluation Group and stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Stead Air Force Base
