Pleven
Pleven ( ) is the seventh most populous city in Bulgaria. Located in the northern part of the country, it is the administrative centre of Pleven Province, as well as of the subordinate Pleven municipality. It is the biggest economic center in Northwestern Bulgaria. At the 2021 census its population was 89,823. Internationally known for the siege of Plevna of 1877, today it is a major economic centre of the Bulgarian Northwest and Central North and the third largest city of Northern Bulgaria after Varna and Ruse. OFK Spartak () is a Bulgarian municipal association football club from the city of Pleven founded on 10 September 1919. It currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football. The team's greatest achievements are the Bulgarian Cup final in 1957 and the third place in the Bulgarian Championship during the following season. Spartak Pleven made its debut in the A Group during the 1952 A Group season. Spartak established itself as one of the most consistent teams in the Bulgarian A Group, only missing five seasons of top flight football between 1952 and 1988. However, after 1989, Spartak began gradually declining, mostly due to financial constraints, with the club only managing to play three top flight seasons since then, most recently during the 2001–02 season. FC Dunav (, officially named ''"Дунав от Русе"'') is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Ruse, which currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system. OFC Bdin () is a Bulgarian football club based in Vidin, currently (season 2023–2024) playing in the Second Professional League, the second level of Bulgarian football. Its home stadium "Georgi Benkovski" has a capacity of 15 000 seats. The club color is blue shirts and shorts. History The club was officially founded in 1923. In 1946, Bdin reached the Bulgarian Republic Football Championship semi-finals, eliminating Botev Plovdiv and Hadzhi Slavchev Pavlikeni along the way. Bdin also qualified to play in the A PFG in 1948–49 season, the first season of the newly established first tier of Bulgarian football. Bdin could not survive and was relegated, however. Football Club Partizan Cherven Bryag () is a Bulgarian association football club based in Cherven Bryag, and plays in the North-West Third League, the third level of Bulgarian football. Partizan was founded in 1918 as ''Football Club Sila''. Cherven Bryag won promotion to the B PFG during the 1981–82 season, the only time the club has played in the second level of Bulgarian football. This proved to be the club's only season in professional football to date, as they finished on 16th place and were relegated after losing in the play-off against Metalurg Pernik. The club had been playing mostly in the country's fourth division before it was promoted to the V AFG for the 2011–12 season, finishing 8th. They did even better during the 2012-13 campaign, finishing in 3rd spot.
