Standard Insurance-Navy Corvettes
The Standard Insurance-Navy Corvettes are a professional women's volleyball club currently playing in the Philippine Super Liga, Philippine Superliga (PSL). The team is owned by Standard Insurance Company, Inc., in partnership with the official women's volleyball team of the Philippine Navy. It debuted in the 2016 PSL Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup, 2016 Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup. Aside from volleyball, Standard Insurance also sponsored the Philippine Navy's cycling team. Philippine Super Liga
The Philippine Super Liga (PSL; alternatively spelled as Philippine Superliga) was a non-professional corporate club women's volleyball league in the Philippines. It was first organized by SportsCore Event Management and Consultancy, Inc. and later owned by Athletic Events & Sports Management Group (ACES), Inc. The league was envisioned to provide former collegiate players a league with which they can continue with their volleyball career. The PSL also had a men's division from 2013 to 2014, although its beach volleyball tournament both have a women's and men's division since its inception. In 2021, the PSL was left without any active team after all teams either filed a leave of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic or moved to the newly professionalized Premier Volleyball League, the PSL's rival league. The 2016 PSL All-Filipino Conference was the third conference edition and second indoor tournament for the Philippine Super Liga's fourth season. The tournament began on 18 June 2016 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan. Most matches will be held at Filoil Flying V Centre and Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay. The Philippine Navy (PN) () is the naval warfare service branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. It has an estimated strength of 24,500 active service personnel, including the 10,300-strong Philippine Marine Corps. It operates 91 combat vessels, 16 auxiliary vessels, 25 manned aircraft and 8 unmanned aerial vehicles. Ronda Pilipinas
Ronda Pilipinas (Around the Philippines) is an annual professional road cycling competition held usually in the first quarter of the year in the Philippines. It is organized by LBC Express, the leading courier service provider in the country, thru the help of 3Q Sports and sanctioned by the International Cycling Union and the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (PhilCycling) headed by cycling patron Bambol Tolentino. It was formed in 2011 with Santy Barnachea as the inaugural champion of the 1,650 km, 12-stage initial bike-a-thon. 2016 PSL Season
The 2016 PSL season was the fourth season of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). There were three indoor conferences and one beach volleyball tournament for the season. The PSL was also chosen to organize two international volleyball tournaments for the year - the 2016 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship and the 2016 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship - both of which were staged in the Philippines. Background The calendar of events for the 2016 season was finalized during the planning session between the league officials and team owners on November 11, 2015. Starting this season, teams will offer annual exclusive contracts, instead of per-conference agreements with their players. The 2016 Asics PSL Grand Prix was the second indoor conference of the Philippine Super Liga for its fourth season. The conference took place between October 8, 2016, and December 10, 2016.
