Stamatis Kokotas
Stamatis Kokotas (Greek: Σταμάτης Κόκοτας, 23 March 1937 – 1 October 2022) was a Greek folk singer. Life and career Kokotas was born in Athens into a family of six children. He lost his father, a doctor, when he was a small child. On leaving school, he moved to Paris to study medicine, and while there he met Stavros Xarchakos, who helped launch his career. His breakout came in 1966 with the hit "Στου Όθωνα τα χρόνια" ("In the days of King Otto"). Other major hits included the songs "Όνειρο απατηλό" ("Illusory dream") and "Γιέ μου" ("My son"). He collaborated with musicians including Dimos Moutsis, Antonios Katinaris, Giorgos Hatzinasios, , Giorgos Zampetas and Giannis Spanos. Kokotas was twice married and had three children. Giannis Spanos
Ioannes "Giannis" Spanos (, ; 26 July 1934 – 30 October 2019), also transliterated as Yannis Spanos, was a Greek music composer and lyricist. In his early days as a musician he was also a piano accompanist. Spanos won the music prize at the 1971 Thessaloniki Film Festival for composing the score of the film '' Ekeino to kalokairi''. Biography Spanos was born in Kiato in 1934. His father was a dentist. Spanos was influenced by his sister's piano studies, and moved to Athens at the age of 17 to study at the National Odeum where he learned to play the piano. His father wanted him to become a scientist so he sponsored a yearly trip around Europe; Spanos lived briefly in Italy, Germany and the UK, eventually coming to Paris, France, whereto he eventually moved more permanently in 1961. Giorgos Zampetas (Pronounced 'Zabetas', , sometimes romanized as George Zambetas / George Zabetas / Giorgos Zabetas; 25 January 1925 – 10 March 1992) was a Greek bouzouki musician. He was born in Athens, where he also died, but his origins were from the island of Kythnos. Giorgos Hatzinasios (also spelled Hadjinasios; , ; born 19 January 1942) is a Greek songwriter and composer. Early life Hatzinasios was born in Thessaloniki. His father was Agapios Hatzinasios, a native of Nigrita, Serres and a music professor of Thessaloniki's State Conservatory and a renowned saxophonist. His mother was Anna Zografou, a native of Galatista in Chalkidiki. His paternal grandfather, also Georgios Hatzinasios and a graduate from the Phanar Greek Orthodox College, was a merchant and visited the Holy Land at a young age with his father, Athanassios. Dimos Moutsis
Dimos Moutsis (, ; 2 August 1938 – 6 March 2024) was a Greek singer-songwriter and composer. Biography Moutsis was born in Piraeus. He was a student of the violin at the Athens Conservatoire from the age of seven and graduated at the age of twenty one as a prize-winning soloist. During the late 1960s, he met poet and lyricist Nikos Gatsos and fellow composer Manos Hatzidakis at a cafeteria which was a well-known haunt for musicians and artists (Flokas). In 1967, Gatsos began to provide Moutsis with poetry he had written, thus allowing Moutsis to write his first songs. The first song Moutsis wrote was 'Βρέχει ο Θεός' ('God is raining'), a piece he had already composed the music for and for which Gatsos provided lyrics.
