Potsdam () is the capital and, with around 183,000 inhabitants, largest city of the German state of Brandenburg. It is part of the Berlin/Brandenburg Metropolitan Region. Blankenfelde () is a locality (''Ortsteil'') located within the Berlin borough (''Bezirk'') of Pankow. Of the city's 95 localities, it is the least densely populated. History Blankenfelde was founded around 1375 and was integrated into Berlin in 1920 via the " Greater Berlin Act". After World War II, it was part of East Berlin from 1949 to 1990. Pankow () is the most populous and the second-largest borough by area of Berlin.
