Stadionul Steaua (2021)
The Steaua Stadium (), informally also known as Ghencea Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Bucharest, Romania. It primarily serves as the home stadium of CSA Steaua București and the Romania national football team, replacing the former venue. The new stadium cost €95 million and is located in the neighbourhood of Ghencea. It seats 31,254 spectators. Notable events The stadium was inaugurated on 7 July 2021, with a match between Steaua and OFK Beograd, the same team with whom they had inaugurated the previous stadium back in 1974. It ended with a 6–0 win for the home team, with Bogdan Chipirliu being the first player to score in the new stadium. Austria and North Macedonia's squads were based at the stadium during preparation for and between matches at UEFA Euro 2020. UEFA Elite Stadium
UEFA stadium categories are categories for association football, football stadiums laid out in UEFA's Stadium Infrastructure Regulations. Using these regulations, stadiums are rated as category one, two, three, or four (renamed from elite) in ascending ranking order. These categories replaced the previous method of ranking stadiums on one to five star scale in 2006. UEFA does not publish lists of stadiums fulfilling the criteria for any of the categories defined in the UEFA Stadium Infrastructure Regulations, but all assigned stadium categories are visible in UEFA's TIME platform, which is not open to the general public. Steaua Stadium (), informally also known as Ghencea Stadium, was a association football, football stadium in Bucharest, Romania, which served as the home of CSA Steaua București (football), Steaua București. It was inaugurated on 9 April 1974 when Steaua played a friendly game against OFK Belgrade, 2–2. Gheorghe Tătaru was the first player to score in the stadium. The stadium was entirely demolished in 2018, and was replaced with a Stadionul Steaua (2021), new all-seater stadium opened in 2021.
