Stadio Romeo Neri
Stadio Romeo Neri is a multi-use stadium in Rimini, in the region of Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy. The stadium has a capacity of 9,768 and is largely used for football (soccer), football as the home of Rimini FC 1912. History The decision to construct a new stadium in Rimini was made in 1932. Work began in January 1933, based on a design by engineer Virginio Stramigioli, and was completed approximately one year later. The original facility included a concrete velodrome, three separate stands with a total capacity of 4,000 spectators, three gymnasiums, an athletics track with dedicated platforms, and various support services. Initially named Stadio del Littorio, the venue hosted the finish line of a Giro d'Italia stage on 2 June 1934. After World War II, it was renamed Stadio Comunale, and later dedicated to Romeo Neri, a gymnast from Rimini who was the city’s first Olympic athlete. Stadio (literally, ''Stadium'') is an Italian pop rock band formed in 1977. The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '' Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). Giro D'Italia
The Giro d'Italia (; ), also known simply as the Giro, is an annual stage race, multiple-stage bicycle racing, bicycle race primarily held in Italy, while also starting in, or passing through, other countries. The Serie D () is the highest level of semi-professional football in Italy, and the fourth tier of the Italian national league system. It sits beneath the third and lowest fully professional league, Serie C, and feeds in to it through promotion and relegation. Romeo Neri (26 March 1903 – 23 September 1961) was an Italian gymnastics, gymnast. He won three gold medals at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, becoming, along with Helene Madison of United States, the most successful athlete there. He previously won a silver medal at the 1928 Summer Olympics. In 1934 he won a silver medal and a bronze medal at the world championships in Budapest. Career Neri took swimming, running, weightlifting and boxing before changing to gymnastics. In 1926 he won the national championships in the parallel bars, followed by four all-round titles in 1928–1930 and 1933. At the 1928 Olympics, besides winning a silver on the horizontal bar, he finished fourth on the rings and all-around.
