Stadio Rino Mercante
The Stadio Rino Mercante is a multi-use sports stadium in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. It is the home of Bassano Virtus 55 S.T. The stadium also has a cycling track, measuring and made of cement and resin. It hosted the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 1985, the national track cycling championships on a number of occasions and in road bicycle racing, the finish of the Giro del Veneto from 1970 to 1980 and the finish of a stage of the Giro d'Italia in 1946, 1949, 1968, 1970 and 1974. Bassano Del Grappa
Bassano del Grappa ( or ''Bassan'', ) is a city and ''comune'', in the Province of Vicenza, Vicenza province, in the region of Veneto, in northern Italy. It bounds the communes of Cassola, Marostica, Solagna, Pove del Grappa, Romano d'Ezzelino, Valbrenta, Lusiana Conco, Rosà, Cartigliano and Nove. Some neighbourhoods of these communes have become in practice a part of the urban area of Bassano, so that the population of the whole conurbation totals around 70,000 people. 1970 Giro D'Italia
The 1970 Giro d'Italia was the 53rd edition of the Giro, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The race consisted of 20 stages, starting in San Pellegrino Terme on 18 May and finishing Bolzano on 7 June. There was one time trial stage and a single rest day. Eddy Merckx of the Faemino team won the overall general classification, his second victory. Italians Felice Gimondi (Salvarani) placed second, 3 min and 14 s slower than Merckx, and Martin Van Den Bossche (Molteni) was third, nearly five minutes behind Merckx. The first team of the club was relocated to Vicenza in 2018 as L.R. Velòdrom d'Horta is a velodrome located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was the Cycling at the 1992 Summer Olympics, track cycling venue for the 1992 Summer Olympics and was also the venue for the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 1984 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, 1984. The velodrome, designed by Esteve Bonell and Francesc Rius, was built in 1984 as the first of Barcelona's construction projects in preparation for the bid for the 1992 Summer Olympics in 1986. It was the first velodrome built to new FIAC rules permitting a track if surfaced with wood. The building won the FAD architecture prize in 1985.
