Stade Rochelais Basket
Stade Rochelais basket is a French professional basketball team based in La Rochelle. The team plays in the Pro A, having been promoted from the LNB Pro B in the 2023–24 season. Founded in 1932 as Ruppela, the team promoted to the Pro B, the second level league, for the first time in 1988. The Rochelais remained in the league for eight years, and had several former Pro A players on its team throughout the years, including Don Collins and Freddy Hufnagel. In 1996, the club relegated back to the sixth level Nationale Masculine 4 (NM4). They returned to the third level Nationale Masculine 1 (NM1) in 2012, under coach Gregory Thiélin. The club merged with the rugby union club Stade Rochelais in 2017, adopting the rugby club's traditional team colors of yellow and black. The basketball section became part of the omnisport club named Stade Rochelais Omnisports. LNB Pro A
The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. At the end of the regular season, the top eight teams qualify for the playoffs. The two teams with the worst regular season records are relegated to the 2nd-tier Pro B. Through the 1985–86 season, the league championship was determined by a one-off final, or solely by league play. La Rochelle (, , ; Poitevin-Saintongeais: ''La Rochéle''; oc, La Rochèla ) is a city on the west coast of France and a seaport on the Bay of Biscay, a part of the Atlantic Ocean. The LNB Pro B, commonly known as Pro B, is the 2nd-tier level men's professional basketball league in France. It is the second division of the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB), which has organized the league since the year 1987. The regular season champion and the winner of the promotion playoffs from each Pro B season are promoted to the top-tier level LNB Pro A, replaced by the bottom two teams in Pro A. Aymeric Jeanneau (born 10 October 1978) is a French professional basketball player. He is a 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in) tall point guard. Biography He started his career at Saint-Fulgent before joining the centre of excellence at Cholet Basket. He stayed at Cholet for a long time, under the management of Éric Girard, whom he followed to STB Le Havre and SIG. Jeanneau won the French Championship title with SIG in 2004/2005. Aymeric then had the chance to play in the Euroleague with the Strasbourg team in the 2005/2006 season. 2024–25 LNB Élite Season
The 2024–25 LNB Élite season, also known as Betclic Élite for sponsorship reasons, is the 103rd season of the LNB Élite, France's top basketball league. It began on 20 September 2024 with the regular season and will conclude at the latest on 24 June 2025 with the playoffs. AS Monaco is the back-to-back defending champion. Format changes For this season, the league was reduced from 18 to 16 teams. After the regular season, the play-in will be introduced in which the teams that finish between 7th and 10th will play for the last two playoffs spots like other European leagues. On the other hand, the 15th team from regular season will join to Pro B promotion playoffs to avoid relegation to the latter league.
