Stade Français Genève is a Swiss basketball club part of the homonymous multi-sports club that is based in Geneva. History The club was founded in 1942 and won its first Ligue Nationale A in 1951. The golden era of the club came one decade later when Stade Français won its second league title and managed to be one of the powerhouses of the Swiss League at least until the 1972–73 season (last trophy until today). The club still has six titles in the 1961-1973 era, it has only two participations in the FIBA European Champions Cup in the 1962–63 and 1971–72 seasons. The Swiss Basketball League, also known as SB League or SBL, is the top-tier professional club basketball league in Switzerland. It is organized by Swiss Basketball. The winners of the SBL are crowned Swiss national basketball champions. Currently, twelve teams compete in the league. EuroLeague
The EuroLeague is a European men's professional basketball club competition. The league is widely recognised as the top-tier and the most prestigious men's basketball league in Europe. The league consists of 20 teams, of which 16 are given long-term licences and wild cards, making the league a semi-closed league. The league was first organized by FIBA in 1958, subsequently by ULEB in 2000 and then solely by Euroleague Basketball. 1962–63 FIBA European Champions Cup
The 1962–63 FIBA European Champions Cup was the sixth season of the European top-tier level professional basketball club competition FIBA European Champions Cup (now called EuroLeague). It was won by CSKA Moscow, after they beat Real Madrid in a three-legged EuroLeague Finals, after the two first games ended with an aggregate two-legged tie. The 1971–72 FIBA European Champions Cup was the 15th installment of the European professional club basketball system, European top-tier level professional basketball club competition FIBA European Champions Cup (now called EuroLeague). The EuroLeague Finals, Final was held at the Nokia Arena (Tel Aviv), Yad Eliyahu Arena, in Tel Aviv, Israel, on March 23, 1972.
