Stacy Piagno
Stacy Piagno (born March 7, 1991) is a member of the United States women's national baseball team which won a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. Playing career Piagno played college softball at the University of Tampa. On July 23, 2015, Piagno threw the first no-hitter in women’s baseball at the Pan American Games, in Toronto, defeating the Puerto Rico women's national baseball team. In June 2016, she was signed by the Sonoma Stompers of the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs. This made her and fellow Stompers teammate outfielder-pitcher Kelsie Whitmore the first women to play professional baseball as teammates since the 1950s. Sonoma Stompers
The Sonoma Stompers are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Sonoma, California. They are current members of the California Collegiate League. They began play as members of the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs in 2014. They are a successor franchise to the defunct Sonoma County Grapes, and were the first professional team to make Sonoma County home since the Sonoma County Crushers ceased play following the 2002 season. History The Stompers announced their first professional signing, Tommy Lyons, in March 2014, and shortly thereafter traded for local player, Jayce Ray. The team's first manager was Ray Serrano, who led the Stompers to a 42–36 record in their inaugural season. In 2015, Serrano accepted a full-time position with the Atlanta Braves to serve as the organization's catching instructor. Kelsie Whitmore
Kelsie Whitmore (born July 5, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher and outfielder for the Staten Island FerryHawks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. She was the first woman to appear in the starting lineup in an Atlantic League game. She was a member of the United States women's national baseball team from 2014 to 2019. Whitmore played college softball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans and has also played professionally for the Sonoma Stompers of the Pacific Association. Career As a youth, Whitmore played Little League Baseball and PONY Baseball. She attended Temecula Valley High School in Temecula, California. She played for the school's baseball team, and was the only female on the team. She also played soccer and golf at Temecula Valley.
