Stacy Babb
Stacy Reena Lenita Babb also known as Stacy Babb (born 13 March 1983) is a Bermudian woman cricketer who mainly played cricket during her career along with other sports including athletics, football and cycling. She was part of the Bermudian cricket team at the 2008 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Stacy also claimed a bronze medal in the women's U17 triple jump event during the 1998 Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships in Athletics The 13th Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships were held in the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in Georgetown, Cayman Islands between 10–12 July 1998. Bermuda Women's National Cricket Team
The Bermuda women's national cricket team represents the British Overseas Territories, British overseas territory of Bermuda in international women's cricket matches. The team made its international debut in 2006 and qualified for the 2008 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier, but has played no international matches since 2012. History Background Women's cricket in Bermuda dates to the late 1930s, when Black Bermudian women excluded from white establishments like tennis clubs established a social cricket competition. In 1943 a cup was donated, but the women's cricket scene later declined. The sport underwent a revival in the 1970s due to sponsorship from local hotels, who sponsored teams made up of their employees. 2008 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier
The 2008 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier was an eight-team tournament held in South Africa in February 2008 to decide the final two qualifiers for the 2009 Women's Cricket World Cup. South Africa and Pakistan qualified, with the hosts winning in the final against Pakistan. Pre-tournament The 2007 tournament was due to be played in Lahore, Pakistan in November 2007 but was postponed owing to the state of emergency in Pakistan, and subsequently shifted to South Africa, where it was played in February 2008. The eight participating teams were divided into two groups. Group A featured South Africa, Bermuda, Papua New Guinea, Netherlands and Group B featured Ireland, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Scotland. Regional qualification Unlike in 2003, four teams had to qualify for the tournament.
