Memorial High School (Hedwig Village, Texas)
Memorial High School (MHS) is a secondary school located at 935 Echo Lane in Hedwig Village, Texas, United States, in Greater Houston. Memorial serves students in portions of the Memorial and Spring Branch regions of Houston and several enclaves within the portions. Memorial is part of the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) and serves grades 9 through 12. As of 2005, the district was granted a $500 million education grant, $150 million of which belongs to Memorial High School. History Memorial Senior High School opened in 1962 to relieve overcrowding at Spring Branch High School. Memorial was the second high school to open in SBISD. Beverly Woolley
Beverly Massey Woolley (born July 25, 1939) is a Republican former member of the Texas House of Representatives representing District 136 which then covered part of Harris County, Texas, before the district was moved to suburban Austin in Williamson County. Woolley was the co-chair of the Tea Party caucus in the Texas House. In 2011, Woolley was chosen to replace the Democrat Craig Eiland of Galveston as Speaker pro tempore after Republicans captured a super majority of seats (101 of 150) in the 2010 elections. The Texas Medical Center (TMC) is a medical district and neighborhood in south-central Houston, Texas, United States, immediately south of the Museum District and west of Texas State Highway 288. Over 60 medical institutions, largely concentrated in a triangular area between Brays Bayou, Rice University, and Hermann Park, are members of the Texas Medical Center Corporation—a non-profit umbrella organization—which constitutes the largest medical complex in the world. Ben Taub Hospital is a public hospital located in Houston, Texas within the Texas Medical Center. Having opened in May 1963, the hospital is owned and operated by the Harris Health System and is staffed by the faculty, residents, and students from Baylor College of Medicine. Ben Taub is a Level I trauma center, one of three in Southeast Texas, the others being nearby Memorial Hermann Hospital and University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Kenneth Mattox, a trauma surgeon named Best Doctor in America five times, is the head of the trauma department. Interstate 610 (I-610) is a freeway that forms a loop around the inner city sector of the city of Houston, Texas.
