Staal Brothers
The Staal brothers are four brothers from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, all of whom have had NHL contracts. Eric Staal, Marc Staal, and Jordan Staal still play in NHL, and all but Marc Staal have played for the Carolina Hurricanes. The brothers were born to Dutch-Canadian sod farmers Henry and Linda Staal. Eric, Marc, Jordan and Jared played AAA with their hometown Thunder Bay Kings. Additionally, Eric, Jordan, and Marc are the first trio of brothers in NHL history to each record 1,000 games played. Eric Staal
Eric Craig Staal (born October 29, 1984) is a Canadian professional ice hockey center for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens. Eric is the oldest of the Staal brothers, which includes current teammate Marc and former teammates Jordan and Jared. 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs
The 2006 Stanley Cup playoffs for the National Hockey League (NHL) championship began on April 21, 2006, following the 2005–06 regular season. This was the first playoffs since 2004 due to the 2004–05 NHL lockout that cancelled the previously scheduled season. The 16 teams that qualified, seeded one through eight from each conference, played best-of-seven series with re-seeding after the Conference Quarterfinals. Marc Staal (born January 13, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL) after having played over 1,000 regular season games with the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings. He is the second-oldest of the Staal brothers to play in the NHL. Of the four brothers, Marc is the only defenceman, as well as the only one who has never played for the Carolina Hurricanes.
