St Dennis A.F.C.
St Dennis Association Football Club is a football club based in St Dennis, Cornwall. They are currently members of the and play at Boscawen Park. History Founder members of the Cornwall Combination in 1959–60, St Dennis won the league in 1975–76, before dropping out in 1983. They resurfaced in the East Cornwall League and won it twice, in 1991–92 and 1999–2000. They resigned in 2006, but rejoined three years later, winning Division One and the Premier Division in two seasons before being promoted to the South West Peninsula League Division One West in 2011. St Dennis, Cornwall
St Dennis ( kw, Tredhinas) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is situated on the B3279 between Newquay and St Austell. St Dennis had a population of 2,696 in the 2001 census, increasing to 2,810 at the 2011 census. An electoral ward also exists with a population at the same census of 4,560. A quarter of the male population is employed in the extraction of china clay. The village is famous for its church built on the site of an Iron Age hillfort. Other major buildings include the Methodist chapel and the Boscawen Hotel. History St Dennis originated as several smaller settlements: Hendra, Trelavour and Whitepit. The area's population grew rapidly after William Cookworthy discovered China Clay in the area. Cornwall Combination
The Cornwall Combination League is a football competition based in the western half of Cornwall, England, formed in 1959. The current league sponsors are drinks retailers LWC. The league has a single division of 20 clubs, being larger than any league below step 6 in the English football league system. The Champion club may apply for promotion to the St Piran Football League, West Division. The bottom clubs may be relegated to one of the level 13 leagues of the English football league system – normally the Trelawny League. No Cornwall Combination clubs are currently eligible for national competitions; the only time a club from the league has played in the FA Cup was when Falmouth Town played a single match in 1983–84, the only season Falmouth's first team played in the Combination. East Cornwall League
The East Cornwall Premier League (ECPL) is a football competition based in Cornwall and west Devon, England, in the United Kingdom. The league sits at level 12 of the English football league system and consists of 18 clubs. Due to a sponsorship arrangement, the league is currently known as the RRL East Cornwall Premier League. Up to 20 clubs competed in a single division until the 2005–06 season, after which the league was split into two divisions for the first time, with the top 14 clubs from 2005–06 forming the Premier Division and the remaining clubs and a number of Plymouth-based sides transferring from the Plymouth and West Devon League to form a new Division One. The National League System comprises the six levels of the English football league system immediately below the level of the English Football League.
