St. Paul Twin Stars
Minnesota TwinStars FC is an American soccer team playing in the Minnetonka High School Stadium, Minnetonka, Minnesota, United States. Founded in 1997, the team plays in National Premier Soccer League. Prior to the 2004 season, the team was known as the St. Paul TwinStars FC. The Minnesota TwinStars FC historically had a long-standing relationship with the Hmong community in Minnesota, along with the African community in suburbs such as Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. In the early stages of the team's history, the dominant ethnic group that played on the TwinStars were Hmong, from Wisconsin and Minnesota. Francis Duclair Mbome Mbome (born 30 November 1988) is a former footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in Cameroon, he has represented Equatorial Guinea internationally. Career Mbome's career spanned several countries, including Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and now he currently plays for Minnesota Twin Stars, making his NPSL debut in 2009, aged 21. Sports in Minneapolis–Saint Paul includes a number of teams. The Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings arrived in Minnesota in 1961. The Twins were formed when the Washington Senators of the American League relocated to Minnesota and the Vikings were an NFL expansion team. Hopkins High School is a public high school located in Minnetonka, Minnesota, United States. Hopkins High School is part of the Hopkins School District 270. History In the 1970s, there were two high schools in the district: Dwight D. Eisenhower Senior High School, named for the former general and U.S. president and Charles A.
