St. Joseph High School (Edmonton)
St. Joseph Catholic High School is a secondary school located in North-Central Edmonton. It is the largest high school in Alberta by area. History St. Joseph High School first opened in 1930 as the first high school for the Catholic boys in the Edmonton region. In the 1950s with the closing of St. Mary's High School, St. Joseph opened its doors to girls. Since 1998, St. Joseph's High School has offered self-directed learning programs. The Honourable Allan H.J. Wachowich (born March 8, 1935) is the former Chief Justice of the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta. Early life Born Allan Harvey Joseph Wachowich to Polish-Ukrainian parents Philip and Nancy. His family was one of the first five Polish families to immigrate to Alberta in 1897 setting down in Opal, Alberta, but moving to Edmonton when Allan was nine years old. His parents had eight children of which Allan was the seventh. He has an older brother and six sisters. William Smith (born December 11, 1934) is a Canadian businessman, former politician, and former professional football player. Smith was a mayor of Edmonton, Alberta from 1995 until 2004. Smith was a Grey Cup champion with the Edmonton Eskimos. Smith was born in Edmonton, Alberta. Smith played for the Eskimos from 1956 to 1963 as a defensive back. Eugenio Principe (born February 26, 1967) is a Canadian sports reporter and broadcaster, who is the current host of Edmonton Oilers broadcasts on Sportsnet. He is best known for his frequent use of puns and props during his pre-game segments. Marcel Joseph Aimé Lambert (August 21, 1919 – September 24, 2000) was a Canadian politician and Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada from 1962 to 1963. Hank Ilesic
Henry Ilesic (born September 7, 1959) is a former all-star punter in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He also handled place kicking and kickoffs. He was twice an all-star punter and played in the CFL for 19 seasons. He played on seven Grey Cup winning teams, and retired in 2001. He remains third overall for Most Punting Yards, All-Time Regular Season. He played one season in the National Football League. James Garvey Donlevy (April 16, 1937 – August 4, 2019) was a Canadian football coach.
