St. Andrews Football Club are a Maltese football club from the town of St. Andrew's, Pembroke, which currently plays in the Maltese Challenge League. History St. Andrews F.C was founded in 1968 as Luxol St. Andrew's. It is reputed for its highly organised football nursery, which has produced a number of talented players over the years. The Luxol Stadium is a stadium in Pembroke, Malta, opened on 26 May 2006. It was built at a cost of Lm 350,000 with an artificial turf surface and floodlighting. Vesko Petrović
Vesko Petrović (born 28 December 1965) is a Montenegrin football manager, most recently in charge of Maltese outfit St. Andrews. He spent a large part of his playing career in Malta, where he played as a striker for several clubs. He played both games for Valletta in the 1996–97 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup but never in the league for them. Managerial career Petrović led Maltese third-tier side Mġarr United to promotion in 2012. Petrović was appointed manager of Marsaskala in summer 2014 and of Rabat Ajax in summer 2018. He was named assistant to head coach Jesmond Zammit at Gudja United in summer 2023, only to move to St. Andrews in January 2024 to steer the club safe from relegation to the third tier. The Maltese Challenge League (referred to as the Bank of Valletta, BOV Challenge League for sponsorship reasons) is the second-highest division in Football in Malta, Maltese football, behind the Maltese Premier League. Ally Dawson
Alistair John Dawson (25 February 1958 – 26 July 2021) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a defender. He spent most of his career at Rangers. In 2011, Dawson was inducted into Rangers' Hall of Fame. Playing career Dawson was signed as a sixteen-year-old in 1975 by manager Jock Wallace Jr. and made his debut in a pre-season tour in Canada. He was a full back who could play on either side of the pitch. He sustained a serious injury during a club tour of Canada, when he fractured his skull. He recovered, and became a centre back.
