Sri Lankan Cricket Team In England In 2024
The Sri Lanka cricket team toured England in August and September 2024 to play three Test matches against the England cricket team. The Test series formed part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship. In July 2023, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the fixtures, as a part of the 2024 home schedule. Squads On 13 August 2024, England captain Ben Stokes was ruled out with a hamstring injury and Ollie Pope was named as the captain, and Harry Brook named as his deputy. On 25 August 2024, Mark Wood was ruled out of the remainder of the Test series due to a muscle strain, Josh Hull was named as his replacement. Ollie Pope
Oliver John Douglas Pope (born 2 January 1998) is an English professional cricketer who plays for the England cricket team and Surrey County Cricket Club. He is a right-handed batsman who occasionally plays as a wicket-keeper. He made his Test debut in 2018. Domestic career Pope attended Cranleigh School and is the great great great great grandson of the school's first headmaster, Joseph Merriman. Harry Cherrington Brook (born 22 February 1999) is an English international cricketer who plays international cricket for England and domestic cricket for Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Primarily a right-handed batsman, he also bowls right-arm medium pace. He made his international debut for England in January 2022. Lokuge Dinesh Chandimal ( si, ලොකුගේ දිනේෂ් චන්දිමාල්; born 18 November 1989) is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who captained the Sri Lanka national cricket team.
