Ollie Pope
Oliver John Douglas Pope (born 2 January 1998) is an English cricketer who plays for the England cricket team in Test cricket and is the current vice-captain. He plays domestically for Surrey County Cricket Club. He is a right-handed batter who occasionally plays as a wicket-keeper. He made his Test debut against India in 2018. Domestic career Pope attended Cranleigh School and is the great-great-great-great-grandson of the school's first headmaster, Joseph Merriman. He played club cricket for both Guildford and Cranleigh Cricket Clubs and was a member of the Surrey age-group sides. On 26 August 2016, Pope signed a two-year professional contract with Surrey. Two days later, he made his List A debut for Surrey in the semi-final of the 2016 Royal London One-Day Cup against Yorkshire. 2016 Royal London One-Day Cup
The 2016 Royal London One-Day Cup tournament was a limited overs cricket competition that formed part of the 2016 domestic cricket season in England and Wales. Matches were contested over 50 overs per side and have List A status. All eighteen First-class counties competed in the tournament. Defending champions Gloucestershire went out in the group stage, as Warwickshire Bears beat Surrey in the final. 2021 County Championship
The 2021 County Championship (referred to as the LV= Insurance County Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the 121st cricket County Championship season in England and Wales. For the first phase of the tournament, the teams were split into three groups of six, with each side playing ten matches. The top two teams from each group progressed into Division One for the second phase of the competition, with the other teams progressing to Divisions Two and Three. The team that finished top of Division One became the county champions; and the top two teams from Division One contested a five-day match at Lord's for the Bob Willis Trophy. On 17 December 2020, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed all the fixtures for the tournament. PCA Player Of The Year Awards
The PCA Player of the Year Awards are a set of annual cricket awards. Awards are given for the Men's Player of the Year, Women's Player of the Year, Men's Young Player of the Year and Women's Young Player of the Year, presented to the player who is adjudged to have been the best of the year in their respective category. The winner is chosen by a vote amongst the members of the players' trade union, the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA). The Men's Player of the Year award was first awarded in 1970, whilst the Men's Young Player of the Year award began in 1990. Christopher Stewart Patterson (born 8 December 1971), an Australian politician, was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Camden for the Liberal Party from 2011 to 2019. Early life and background Patterson has lived in the Camden area for over 25 years. A former TAFE teacher, he later managed the Merino Tavern, and was elected to Camden Council in 2000. He did not seek re-election in 2004; stood again at a by-election in 2005; and became mayor in 2006. The England and Wales Cricket Board, aka ECB, is the national governing body of cricket in England and Wales. It was formed on 1 January 1997 as a single governing body to combine the roles formerly fulfilled by the Test and County Cricket Board, the National Cricket Association and the Cricket Council. 2017 NatWest T20 Blast
The 2017 NatWest T20 Blast was the fifteenth edition of the T20 Blast, a professional domestic T20 competition league in England and Wales run by the ECB. The league consisted of the 18 first-class county teams divided into two divisions of nine teams each with fixtures played between July and September. Ahead of the final round of fixtures, 15 teams were still in a position to qualify for the quarter-finals. The finals day took place at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on 2 September 2017. Sussex County Cricket Club is the oldest of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Sussex. Its limited overs team is called the Sussex Sharks.
