Sri Gading
Sri Gading or Seri Gading is a mukim and parliamentary constituency in Batu Pahat District, Johor, Malaysia, located along Jalan Batu Pahat-Kluang ( Federal Route 50). It lies south-east of Batu Pahat town, north-west of Ayer Hitam and west of Yong Peng. It is also a name of one of 14 parishes in Johor, Sri Gading parish. Name The name Seri Gading means 'The Gorgeous Ivory' in Malay. The origin of this name can be traced back to the time when Sultan Ibrahim hunts an elephant at this place, and was impressed by the luster of the ivory. However, it is not easy to spot elephants in Sri Gading today, even back since the late-1970s. Geography The mukim spans over an area of 192 km2. Jawi (; ace, Jawoë; Kelantan-Pattani: ''Yawi''; ) is a writing system used for writing several languages of Southeast Asia, such as Acehnese, Banjarese, Kerinci, Maguindanaon, Malay, Minangkabau, Tausūg, and Ternate. Sultan Ibrahim Of Johor
Sultan Sir Ibrahim Al-Masyhur Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Al-Khalil Ibrahim Shah (17 September 1873 – 8 May 1959) was a Malaysian sultan and the 22nd Sultan of Johor and the 2nd Sultan of modern Johor. He was considered to be "fabulously wealthy." An Anglophile, Sultan Ibrahim continued the policy of friendly relations with the crown of the United Kingdom, often manipulating his friendship with the reigning kings of Britain to thwart the expansionist ambitions of the British Colonial Office. However, he became highly unpopular later in his native land for his opposition to Malayan independence. This led him to spend most of his time away from Johor, traveling extensively in Europe, particularly to Britain. Kluang
Kluang ( Jawi: كلواڠ), formerly Keluang, is a town in Kluang District, Johor, Malaysia. Kluang was founded in 1915 as the administrative capital of central Johor by the British. It is located in the centre of the state and is within 90 minutes of all major urban areas of Johor. Kluang, combined with Batu Pahat, encompasses central Johor with a market catchment of over 700,000. The Batu Pahat District is a district in the state of Johor, Malaysia. It lies southeast of Muar, southwest of Kluang, northwest of Pontian, south of Segamat and Tangkak District. Batu Pahat (BP) is a town and capital of Batu Pahat District, Johor, Malaysia. It lies south-east of Muar (a royal town), south-west of Kluang, north-west of Pontian and south of Segamat. The town area is located inside Simpang Kanan parishes. As of 2009, Batu Pahat town is the 20th largest urban area in Malaysia in terms of population.
