Sri C. Achutha Menon Government College
Sri C. Achutha Menon Government College is situated in Kuttanellur, in Thrissur city of Kerala in India. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut and has hostel facilities. The college provides bachelor's degree courses in various streams like arts, commerce and science. History Thrissur Government College was established in 1972. The college started functioning in the present Government Training College premises on 14 August 1972 with 200 students and 9 teachers. Prof. Subbayyan T R was the first principal. The courses offered were one Pre – Degree batch each for the 3rd and 4th Groups and Degree courses in History and Economics. University Of Calicut
The University of Calicut, also known as Calicut University, is a state-run public university headquartered at Tenhipalam in Malappuram district of the state of Kerala, India. Established in 1968, it is the first university to be set up in northern Kerala. The university is coordinated by the University Grants Commission (re-accredited by NAAC with 'A+' grade). Kuttanellur is a residential area situated in the City of Thrissur in Kerala state of India. Kuttanellur is Ward 27 of Thrissur Municipal Corporation. It is around 6 km away from the Swaraj Round. Kuttanellur is home to Oushadhi, a Kerala Government undertaking for manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines and a ''Government Arts College''. It is accessible from Thrissur town and via NH 47, connecting Thrissur with Ernakulam. This national highway passes through Kuttanaellur, where there is a highway bridge.
