Sreenivasan Jain
Sreenivasan Jain is an Indian journalist who worked for NDTV from 1995 - January 2023. He is currently an adjunct faculty at O.P. Jindal Global University He was one of the prominent faces of NDTV, and during his three-decade career with the news television, served as the anchor of NDTV’s popular programmes, like ''Reality Check,'' '' Truth vs Hype'' etc. He was also the channel's Group Editor. He was NDTV's Mumbai bureau chief from 2003 to 2008. He was also briefly Managing Editor of NDTV's business channel, Profit. He is also an Op-ed columnist for the Business Standard newspaper. An Op-ed column in The Hoot, an independent South Asian media watchdog, praised Jain's television coverage of the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots. ''Newslaundry'' is an Indian media watchdog that provides media critique, reportage and satirical commentary. It was founded in 2012 by Abhinandan Sekhri, Madhu Trehan and Prashant Sareen, all of whom earlier worked in print or television journalism. NDTV Group
New Delhi Television Ltd is an Indian news media company focusing on broadcast and digital news publication. It was founded in 1984 by economist Prannoy Roy and journalist Radhika Roy. NDTV began as a production house for news segments, contracted by the public broadcaster Doordarshan and international satellite channels when television broadcasting was a state monopoly, and transitioned into India's first independent news network. The Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards (RNG Awards) are one of the awards in India in the field of journalism. Named after Ramnath Goenka, the awards have been held annually since 2006, with the 12th edition being held in 2017. Madhu Trehan
Madhu Purie Trehan (born 1940s) is an Indian journalist. She was also the co-founder and editor-in-chief of a digital media portal called ''Newslaundry''. Education Trehan studied at Welham Girls' School in Dehradun, graduating in 1962. In 1968, she went to Harrow Technical College & School of Arts in London to study journalistic photography. She earned a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University, New York in 1972. While in New York City, she worked at the United Nations in their press department, and served as an editor for a weekly newspaper, '' India Abroad''. Abhinandan Sekhri (born 4 August 1974) is the co-founder and CEO of '' Newslaundry'', a media critique, news and current affairs website. 2013 Muzaffarnagar Riots
The 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots were religious clashes between the Hindu Jats and Muslims in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India. A total of 162 died in the clashes, 150 of which were Muslims, another 730 were injured and more than 50,000 Muslim people were displaced. By date 17 September, the curfew was lifted from all riot affected areas and the army was also withdrawn. The riot has been described as "the worst violence in Uttar Pradesh in recent history", with the army, as a result, being deployed in the state for the first time in last 20 years.
