Allan Sproul
Allan Sproul (March 9, 1896 – April 9, 1978) was an American banker. Widely regarded as one of the world's foremost central bankers, he served as President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 1941 to 1956. Biography He was born on March 9, 1896, in San Francisco, California. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and was awarded a Juris doctor, J.D. from New York University. He joined the Federal Reserve System in 1920 as head of the division of analysis and research of the San Francisco Fed. In 1930, he came to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as an assistant deputy governor and secretary, and six years later, when official titles changed, he was appointed first vice president. As one of the leading central bankers in United States history, Sproul made major contributions in solving monetary problems. William Cameron Sproul
William Cameron Sproul (September 16, 1870 – March 21, 1928) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1897 to 1919 and as the 27th governor of Pennsylvania from 1919 to 1923. He also served as chair of the National Governors Association from 1919 to 1922. Early life and education Sproul was born at John Douglass House to William Hall and Deborah Dickinson (Slokom) Sproul in Colerain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on September 16, 1870. The family relocated to Chester, Pennsylvania, in 1883, and Sproul graduated from Chester High School in 1887. He attended Swarthmore College, was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and graduated with honors in 1891. Sproul House
Sproul House a Stick Style, Victorian farm house built in 1870 in the present-day City of Norwalk in Los Angeles County, California by the founder of the city for himself and his family. It houses the Gilbert Sproul Museum containing the family's original furniture, much of which dates back to 1870, along with one-of-a-kind materials relating to the history of Norwalk, such as maps, early school pictures, and other city photographs.
